Director of Content, Meredith Content Licensing

Curating content from Meredith’s national media brands—including EatingWell, Diabetic Living, Better Homes and Gardens and Parents—Meredith Content Licensing delivers strategic content experiences that help build lasting relationships between brands. The Director of Content will play a strategic leadership role on MCL’s Senior Management Team and oversee all content initiatives and account services to drive operations and content licensing sales growth. Nationally known, EatingWell is located in Shelburne, Vermont. Responsibilities include the following:

MANAGEMENT & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate as a member of the Senior Management Team for MCL
  • Oversee five direct reports in Account Services and Editorial; manage freelance editorial, production and design resources; recruit and staff, as needed.
  • Enhance team strengths; lead team building and professional development activities

EDITORIAL OVERSIGHT for all National Media Branded Content

  • Develop standards and best practices for identifying, ingesting and editing content for licensing partners across core licensing sectors and for all Meredith National Media brands
  • Uphold high standards for quality of content; ensure the brand integrity of derived branded content

PRODUCT AND PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT OVERSIGHT

  • Serve as team leader in evolving the Licensing Delivery System; establish workflow processes for partner deliveries and sales support, with a focus on continuous product/platform improvements
  • Work with Dev team in the build and implementation of RaaS and Meal Planning Services and other cross-platform integrations

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Collaborate with VP and other senior leaders on content and account services strategies that support and extend the MCL’s business goals, both short- and long-term
  • Develop relationships, partnerships, projects and collaborative processes with other Meredith business units

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

  • Serve as the program architect for the Fresh Start product line and other health- and lifestyle-focused programs and tools; oversee program development; evaluate partner platforms
  • Oversee the preparation of high-value lifestyle content; collaborate with other Meredith business units to establish new projects and processes for utilizing licensed content in integrated programs

SALES SUPPORT & MARKETING

  • Attend client meetings; work with sales lead and account managers to create strategic content solutions for proposals
  • Collaborate on the production of marketing assets; oversee content on MeredithContentLicensing.com and related social media sites
  • Participate in annual planning/budgeting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS/BA; 5+ years' experience editing health/lifestyle content for a large consumer brand. Management experience. Highly skilled at writing/editing and repackaging content into fresh new formats. Willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
